Play It Safe on Your Rocky Mountain Vacation
Nothing is more fun than a Rocky Mountain vacation, so play it safe while you enjoy the great outdoors. Here are a few tips to keep in mind.
Drink lots of water. One of the most common reasons people get sick while vacationing in the Rocky Mountains is dehydration. More water evaporates from your lungs at higher elevations, so your body can become dehydrated quickly. Some people dont feel thirsty, so its important to drink water even if you think you dont need to. When I first moved to Colorado, I could tell I wasnt getting enough water when my nose got stuffy.
Another problem encountered by people enjoying a Rocky Mountain vacation is altitude sickness. This common ailment may cause headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Try less strenuous activities the first few days in the mountains. Drink plenty of water. If you feel worse or develop other problems, descend to lower altitudes. If your condition fails to improve, consult a doctor.
Its always a good idea to keep an eye on the weather, especially when you are in the mountains. Storms can move in quickly and can become quite fierce, with heavy rain, lots of wind, and spectacular lightning. Hike early in the day. Try not to get caught above the tree line, on the summits of mountains, or near isolated trees or large rocks. If you are caught in a storm, crouch down on your heels and wait for the storm to pass.
Speaking of the weather, it pays to be prepared for changing conditions while enjoying a Rocky Mountain vacation. Carry a backpack with rain gear, flashlight with fresh batteries, sunglasses, sunscreen, waterproof matches or other fire starter, extra food and water, extra clothing, pocket knife, first aid kit, compass, and map. Sometimes the storms bring several inches of snow, obscuring the trail. Its easy to become lost in unfamiliar areas, so you should be prepared to wait out any storms.
Its fun to play in the snow on your Rocky Mountain vacation. Our kids have built snowmen on the Continental Divide on the 4th of July on more than one occasion. Snow can remain on the mountains all summer, and the temptation to climb the snowy slopes is often great. Its much safer to stay back from the steep slopes to avoid any danger from avalanches. While avalanches are more common during winter and early spring, a sudden summer snow storm could create the right conditions in some areas of the mountains. Learn more about avalanche safety from staff in Rocky Mountain National Park or visit the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
The lakes and streams in the Rocky Mountains sparkle like diamonds, and its tempting to wade in or to get a drink of that cold, clear water ” just like in the cowboy movies. Always take your own water from a safe source. The water is very cold and if you fall in, you could develop life-threatening hypothermia in a matter of minutes. Another reason its best not to drink the water is the tiny critter that lives in the water. Giardia can cause diarrhea, cramps, bloating, and weight loss. It is a very unpleasant illness and can leave you feeling under the weather for several weeks.
Some other illnesses that could spoil your Rocky Mountain vacation are plague, Colorado tick fever, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and Hantavirus. Plague and Hantavirus are transmitted by fleas that live on infected rodents such as ground squirrels. The best way to avoid plague is by not feeding the animals, no matter how cute they are. Ticks are common in the Rocky Mountains, so a good way to avoid tick borne illnesses is to check for ticks after hiking. Remove clothing and look for ticks around sock lines, waist lines, and skin folds. Remove ticks carefully, without squeezing, with tweezers. Be sure to remove all of the mouth parts. If you feel generally unwell or have symptoms such as fever, rash, or muscle pain, consult a doctor as soon as possible.
A Rocky Mountain vacation is hard to beat. Dont let a lack of safety awareness spoil your fun and excitement. Take some time to prepare before you leave home. Educate everyone in your group. Use common sense. Rely on park staff for updates about conditions in the park. You can be safe and have fun if you know what to expect. Joe Dockter http://rockymountainvacation.blogspot.com

Many people say, that what you don’t know is what will hurt you. That’s not true. It is what you don’t know that you don’t know which will hurt you.

Most people are pretty familiar with Personal Credit and what they need to do in order to maintain a good FICO Credit Score. Actions such as low revolving balances, always making payments on time, using different types of credit, and length of credit history all play a major rule in determining an individuals Personal Credit worthiness. If dealt with properly, leveraging Personal Credit can be very useful in further advancing an individuals net worth by wisely investing the borrowed money.
You may already be aware that there is Personal Credit and Business Credit. Personal Credit applies to an individual’s credit worthiness, while Business Credit applies to a company’s credit worthiness. There are many similar characteristics between Personal and Business Credit, however Business Credit has a number of unique characteristics.
Personal Credit is connected with an Individual’s Social Security number as opposed to Business Credit which is connected to a company’s (LLC, C Corporation, S Corporation, etc) Tax Identification Number, also known as FEIN (Federal Employer Identification Number) or just EIN (Employer Identification Number).
As an individual you can only have one Social Security number for your entire lifetime however there are no limits to how many companies you can own, each with a unique Tax ID number. So, there is only so much personal credit an individual can obtain, but there is virtually no limit to how much a company can obtain in Business Credit.
Secondly, Personal Credit worthiness is monitored by the three major credit bureaus; Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. However, the majority of Business Credit worthiness and reporting is conducted by a company known as Dun & Bradstreet. Unlike the major U.S. based credit bureaus, Dun & Bradstreet is primarily based out of the country and operates very differently than Equifax, Transunion, and Experian.
There is a methodology (a set of specific processes and to-dos) to structure your company such that it maximizes your Business Credit. Not following this method by no means indicates that you will not acquire Business Credit, but it does means that the journey to that point may take longer or you may not maximize the credit your receive.
In conclusion the situation is really sime: Using and levering OPM (Other Peoples Money, i.e. Business Credit) to develop and operate a business is more efficient and economically preferable to saving the same amount of money yourself.
A friend and business associate of mine obtained a $100,000 business loan utilizing the credit rating of a company in business for only one year. The idea and process so intrigued him that he approached his mentor (who helped him in obtaining the business credit loan) about starting a business to educate others in applying for and receiving large amounts of Business Credit.

Most advertisers fail to realize that at the end of the day PPC Management is all about conversion. Conversion should be your number one priority when it comes down to managing your adwords and ppc campaigns. After all, why should you spend money on traffic if your website is not optimized for conversion? If you are buying traffic and paying for your clicks, don’t you want the highest amount of sales/conversion you can possibly get out of it?
I know website conversion is a no brainer investment but did you know that the vast majority of Google Adwords advertisers have no clue what their conversion rate is? Why pay for traffic if you are not even sure what percentage of that traffic can be converted into sales or leads for your business? I could go on and on about how foolish it is for you neglect this most important part of ppc management but instead let me show you a few way you can increase A.) Track you conversion and B.) Increase your conversion rate for you website.
PPC Management – Conversion Tracking Knowing your website’s conversion rate is crucial. How else will you know what prices to bid for your keywords? First of all installing conversion tracking on your website is very easy and it is the first step to actually improving your conversion rates. There are many tools on the market today that assist you in tracking the effects that changes on your webpage can have on your conversion rate. These tools will actually test multiple changes that you make on your website and help you to interpret the data so that you will know for sure which changes actually increase your website’s conversion.
What Actually Increases Conversion? Well, there are actually several factors that have proven to increase conversion time and time again. If you plan on making a sale the first thing you have to worry about is keeping your visitors on your site long enough so that they can be called into action. (Every website needs to have a very clear, specific call to action, by the way.) How can you keep visitors on your site longer? Simple, capture their attention by using audio or even better video.
Headlines Do not be fooled. Conversion is not all about tweaking the headline of your site. There is so much more to it than that but I will say that your main headline for your site will have a drastic effect on how many visitors will actually bother to read your copy. If you can not write a good headline yourself then start compiling a swipe file of all the headlines you find on your competitors’ sites. Which ones grab your attention? Which one peaks your interest the most? From these, begin to write your own headlines and then test them against each other. When you have a clear winner, write another headline to try to beat it.
There are several other factors that increase conversion but my main point is simply this. There is no point in paying for traffic if your site does not convert a healthy portion of that traffic into sales. After all, you pay for traffic to make sales! Never forget conversion is the most important part of ppc management because those who succeed in conversion make more money and have more money to invest in their online advertising campaigns.
